The most recent statistics state that more than 2,000 people have died in Turkey and Syria as a result of two big earthquakes.
At least 2,000 people have been confirmed dead and more than 5,000 wounded after two large earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria on Friday.
The earthquakes, both of magnitude 7.2, struck the eastern Turkish province of Elazig and the northern Syrian province of Raqqa.
In Turkey, at least 1,400 people have been confirmed dead and more than 4,500 injured. In Syria, at least 600 people have been confirmed dead and more than 500 injured.
In Elazig, some buildings collapsed, including a dormitory in the city of Sivrice, where four students were killed.
In Syria, the affected area includes some refugee camps, where hundreds of tents were destroyed.
Rescue efforts are ongoing in both countries, with teams searching for survivors in the rubble of collapsed buildings.
The Turkish government has declared two days of mourning for the victims of the earthquakes.
